The Significance of the Year 2012
Time, linear time, is akin to a road on which passes the events of our lives. What we perceive as the movement of time through history is merely a series of events marching along a particular line we call linear time. Most of those events appear to be in the past and therefore are our history. While some of those events are yet to appear we deem that the future to be predicted or foretold. That march through linear time is a good measure of events and a grand way to keep track of the events that hold meaning in our lives.
Along this line, we here on planet earth have transforming events which alter our perception of everything we know and send us off in a new and uncharted branch of time. These events drastically alter our definition of who we are and the nature of our lives, causing us to march to a different beat along the road of time. While we have experienced significant events in the past two or three hundred years altering our view of the world and drawing us closer together, there is a world altering event on our horizon.
Before we look at the event which is destined to transform our lives and our planet, let us look at why this time in our collective history is so very pivotal. The Aztec calendar which ran for centuries came to and ended in August 18th, 1987. That was the date of the great Harmonic Convergence where all the planets in our solar system were aligned. That alignment opened a gate in our collective consciousness where we can obtain and process more information than we could before. The prophets and astronomers of that age could not see the times beyond. Exactly hundred years before that day, a leader of former slaves in the western hemisphere was born. That man was Marcus Mosiah Garvey and he brought a new hope to a people who did not have any before him. This led to a series of world changing events in the mid sixties and changed the scape of our consciousness.
The Mayan also had a calendar and it ends December 21st 2012. This has spawned many and varied prediction of the end of the world and the extinction of life as we know it. There are those cowering in caves with stock piles of provision hoping to be the ones who survive the end of the age. There leaders of nations who believe that a messiah will come if they trigger a world war and are doing everything within their power to do that. There are dire predictions famine, destruction and large scale deprivations coming to the inhabitants of the planet which will mean the end of all things.
Now to the actual world altering events spoken of earlier in this piece. This event has been prophesied by many different cultures, religions and even science. The appointed time for this world altering event is set for the year 2012. Why that year? According to the Mayan long calendar, that is the year the fifth age ends and the cycle of life begins again. The timing is not arbitrary, but was preset when we first came to this grand planet to experiment with being separate individuals with the ability to become one being in consciousness. Those connections were never lost from us, we were and are one. We simply allow that awareness to grow fallow within our consciousness to rediscover our oneness and expand beyond our wildest dream.
So the year is fast approaching and some work remains to be done. This work is the changing of our individual and collective consciousness from one seated in Fear to one firmly ROOTED IN LOVE. We are perfectly capable of doing this grand transformation which will fit us to enter the new cycle that life is offering to us. We may not take our fears into this portion of the road of time. Everything there grows larger, and so will our fears. What frightens now will stop our hearts once we are there. But there is nothing to fear as the Universe supports us in love and holds us in the highest of esteems as its treasured offsprings. We are safe and as secured as love can make us, and that is the only security we need.
